    LEGAL LITERACY PROGRAMMES

    Legal Literacy Mission

In a democratic society, awareness of legal rights and responsibilities is fundamental to empowerment and social justice. Yet, a large segment of the population, especially in rural and underprivileged communities, remains unaware of basic legal provisions that exist to protect and uplift them. Even among the educated, knowledge of legal processes and entitlements often remains limited or misunderstood.

The State Legal Services Authority, UT, Chandigarh (SLSA) recognizes that this gap in legal understanding creates barriers to justice, enabling exploitation and social exclusion. Through its Legal Literacy Mission, SLSA strives to bridge this gap by making legal knowledge accessible, understandable, and relevant to everyday life.

SLSA has been at the forefront of promoting legal literacy and ensuring access to justice for all, particularly for the underprivileged and marginalized sections of society. Recognizing that awareness is the first step towards empowerment, SLSA, UT, Chandigarh has implemented a comprehensive Legal Awareness Campaign across the Union Territory.
